Follow Up: Solar eclipse (& Salat al Kusoof) [https://qna.ilmhub.com/question/what-is-the-ruling-for-solar-eclipse-is-there-special-ibadah-or-prayer-we-have-to-do/]
1. There are other posts elsewhere suggesting there are 2 qiyaams and 2 ruku’s in each raka’ah. Is that from another school of thought than Hanafi?
2. In case of women folk, can they perform this Salah at home by themselves or is this only to be performed in a masjid in congregation, and hence women engage in other forms of zikr and ibaadah at home?

1. Yes, this is correct. The method of Kusoof Salah with two rukus and two qiyams according to other madhahib like Shafi’i and Maliki relying on the ahadeeth presented in the Sihah Sitta. Hanafi scholars give answer to those narration saying that the ruku’ was so long such that some Sahaba got up to see if the ruku’ had finished, and those behind these sahaba assumed this to be two ruku’s. Nonetheless, the academic discussion around this is extensive as some opinions of fuqaha’ also have three ruku’s (like Ishaq ibn Rahway rh. Ata’ rh. etc) whereas some even cite four ruku’s (Taus, Ibn Jurayj rh).
The Hanafi way of one ruku’ is concurred by Mashayekh like Ibrahim Nakha’i , Sufiyan al Thawri, Ibn Abi Layla and Imam Saheb rhm. as per accounts from Abdullah ibn Zubayr rd. etc.
2. It is the Hanafi stance that women shall pray their Salat al Kusoof at home just as they do for other salahs. While Sahibayn rh. allow for older women permission for joining in the masjid congregation, younger women will pray at home. The preferred stance in hanafiya remains that of dislike for women to come to masajid for such congregations due to fitna as well as the length of the salah and imposition of difficulty upon women. The academics of this stance are discussed in our discourse of Women presenting themselves for congregational salah like Eids.
