Some narrations talk about Dabatul Ard as an animal which will be a sign of Qiyama.

There is extensive discussion about Daabat al-Ard, however most of it in tafaseer is contradictory.
Muslim Shareef mentions the narrations which establishes Daabat al-Ard as one of the three things (occurrences) beyond which Iman will not be accepted from anyone. These were
- rising of sun from west
- emergence of Dajjal
- emergence of Daabat al-Ard.
Allama Shabbir Ahmad Usmani rh writes in Fath al-Mulhim that, in summary, I would say that Dabat al-Ard is a magnificent animal with a large body that has legs and is definitely not of the human kind. Allah Almighty will bring it forth from the earth close to the Day of Judgment. It will not be a birth but rather an animal prepared within the earth will be brought out. Regarding this, the Hadith narrated by Imam Tirmidhi rh is much better, which goes as follows:
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah rd said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Dabat al-Ard will emerge, and with it will be the staff of Moses and the ring of Solomon. With the ring’s seal, the faces of the believers will shine, and with the staff, the nose of the disbeliever will be crushed, until the people gather at the table where the believer will be distinctly recognized from the disbeliever.” – (Fath al-Mulhim, Vol. 1, p. 138)
