Salah: Minimum requirements for Namaz to be accepted

508 viewsSalahrequirements salah salah for traveler

What is the minimum requirement for namaz (salat) if someone is in a rush one day? Like at airport/ train etc. For example, can one read Subhan a Rabbi al Aala etc. one time in Sujood instead of 3 times?

Bismillahi Ta’ala

Walaikum Assalam Warahmatullah

In principle, Salah will be valid if one only relies upon the Fara’id and Wajibat. However, many actions of the salah are sunnah such as reciting the tasbeehat in the rukoo’ and sujood three time. The hadeeth mentions this to be the minimum for tasbeeh of rukoo’. Fuqaha’ mention that this minimum is for ikmaal (completion) of sunniyah. If one reduces from it, while the salah will be valid, it will be makruh for going contrary to the Sunnah.

Nonetheless, as a practice a 2 rak’at salah does not take such long time that one should have cut corners in it. Recital maybe reduced, and ad’iyaa (duas) towards the end can be reduced and that will suffice. This is from the matters of practice and experience in travels. Alhamdulillah

These are however matters which one should take proper classes to learn properly. We conduct these classes on weekend, and have also kept some of them available online as well at courses.ilmhub.com.
