Is there any mention of Imam Abu Hanifah allowing some wine, in very cold lands to stay warm?
Someone mentioned this today and wanted to know if this is a correct attribution

Walaikum Assalam Warahmatullah
I do not have any recollection of such attribution to Imam Saheb rahimahullah. According to the madhab, all wine (from grapes and dates) is haram and najis (impure).
In the context of the second part of the question, it maybe that the matter relates to a time of need where one may loose one’s life if some haram food is not used as a medicine. However, that much be asked from the one who has mentioned the attribution. Once presented, then I may be able to search for the right context of that attribution.
