Is it necessary to ask a person whom you are giving zakat money, whether they want or whether they take or not zakat money?
It is absolutely essential for you to know beforehand whether the recipient is shar’an eligible to receive Zakat. This could be found by asking him directly. Zakat is your Ibadat, and to carry it out without due diligence stands a chance of ruining the Ibadat in totality.
