Bismillahi Ta’ala
Walaikum Assalam Warahmatullah
At the outset, one must know that according to the dictates of our deen it is not permissible for a non-mahram to be seclusion with another non-mahram of the opposite gender.
So, in an ideal situation, it is better to arrange either someone mahram to take the family, or to arrange another conveyance of the same gender to help take the family to their destination. One could rent a Minivan Cab and request them to send a female driver to assist.
If this is not possible, and sufficient concerted effort has been made to assess this, then in presence of genuine “need” a non-mahram male may assist. The male should sit in the front while the non mahram lady may sit in the back.
One should take utmost effort to maintain the rules and ethos of Shari’ah. Continuously seek Allah’s forgiveness and maintain your dhikr to avoid any ill thought from Shaytan to come into one’s mind. Never underestimate the ploys of shaytan, and always remain seeking refuge of Allah.
