Traveling for Umrah: when to wear ihram by adults & kids

1.21K viewsHajj and UmrahIhram umrah

I am traveling for Umrah from Canada- Doha – Jeddah. I am traveling with my 9 year old son and 6 year old daughter.

My question is if we all need to wear ihram from doha or we can land in jeddah without ihram and then go to meekat for wearing ihram and then do umrah.

My second question is the same ruling applies for my 9 and 6 year old kids?

Bismillahi Ta’ala

Walaikum Assalam Warahmatullah

If your intention is to go to Makkah then you need to be in the state of Ihram before crossing the miqat. Hence, you cannot wear the Ihram in Jeddah.

Your daughter does not need to wear the Ihram. However, you can make her say the intention of umrah.

Your son should wear the Ihram.
