If we are doing wird of Darood Sharif and in between Adhan starts, so should we stop our darood Sharif wird or continue?
Bismillahi Ta’ala
Walaikum Assalam Warahmatullah
In principle, the recitation of Durood and replying to the Adhan are both forms of Zikr, and extremely rewarding. One of the many virtues of replying to the Adhan include the this person will enter Paradise.
There are a few people who are excluded from reply to the Adhan:
a. women in Haidh
b. women in Nifas
c. a person who is listening khutbah
d. person engaged in Salah [or] Janazah
e. enaged in Jimaa’ (intimacy)
f. engaged in relieving himself,
g. or eating.
h. learning and teaching deeni uloom (Tafseer, Fiqh, Qur’an etc)
In your situation as someone who is involved in another form of Zikr (reciting Durood), you should pause the Durood and give reply to the Adhan. Once the Adhan is finished you can continue with the Durood. This way you can benefit from the virtues and blessings of both forms of Zikr.
