I have noticed that many hygiene products like handwash, soaps and all have glycerin in it. When I am home, I use mostly vegan products to avoid it but it is uncertain about handwash or soaps in public washrooms or at workplace.
I would also like to know the ruling about moisturisers or creams containing glycerin.

We have not finalized our fatwa on glycerin/glycerol etc. at this time. Our research in this area is still being conducted.
Since it can be sourced from both animal and non animal based sources, and there is further juristic discussions on its process, our current policy advises to either:
- Confirm from the company that the glycerin is non-animal sourced.
- Or avoid the product until further clarity comes to light.
