Calgary Salah timings: how many minutes should we subtract for Zawal from Dhuhr start time? What about Makrooh time?

707 viewsSalahazan makrooh salah zawal

For Calgary salah times, how many minutes should we subtract for Zawal from Dhuhr start time? Same question for makrooh time before Maghrib start time as well? Please advise.

Bismillahi Ta’ala

Walaikum Assalam Warahmatullah

If you are asking about our ilmHub’s calendar then we add 2 minute to actual zenith to give the starting time of Dhuhr. Generally zawal and its makruh time remains for no more than 4-5 minutes. Out of this half of the time is before actual zenith. So a 2 minute delay to establish the Dhuhr start is sufficient.

The clocks in the masajid make a full 5-10 minutes of makruh time, which does provide a cautionary secure time for salah purposes, but should not be seen as absolute makruh time.

As for the makruh time of salah before Maghreb, i.e. late Asr time, then just as it was mentioned in our Ishraq timing answer [ https://qna.ilmhub.com/question/can-ishraq-be-performed-7-minutes-after-sunrise/ ] a 20-25 min should be maintained for the Makruh time.
