Is it permissible to place a dua paper on the bathroom door? When the door is opened the dua on the door enters the bathroom. Is this okay?
Bismillahi Ta’ala
Walaikum Assalam Warahmatullah
One should bear in mind that the bathroom itself is a place of najaasat (impurity). Therefore, duas etc. that include the blessed name of Allah Ta’ala should not be recited or placed in such impure areas out of respect and reverence. Allah is pure, it is not befitting that his blessed name be recited or placed in places of filth and impurity.
As for the outside of the bathroom door, although it may technically not be considered as part of the bathroom itself, it will still carry the rulings associated with the bathroom due to the door opening inwards and entering the place of najaasat (impurity). Due to this, bathroom doors are considered places of ihanat (indignity). Therefore, one should abstain from placing duas etc. that contain the name of Allah Ta’ala upon the bathroom doors due to the disrespect associated with it.
However, if one wishes to place the dua above the bathroom door (on the wall) as a reminder to read the dua before using the washroom it will be permissible.
