Bismillahi Ta’ala

Walaikum Assalam Warahmatullah,

Yes, the fast and iftar will be valid with dates from Israel. However, keeping the global situation in mind, where our own fellow brothers and sisters are constantly under oppression through the apartheid of Israel, and where the commerce and trade of Israeli products lends towards their fortification; it does not behove a Muslim to be party to it.

Instead, there are alternatives from different Muslim countries, including Palestine. One should instead buy these dates as a meagre form of depriving Israel their trade, and showing one’s support for Palestinians. This is not a fiqhi issue and does not directly affect the validity of your fast.

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
