Can one give themself nazr?

Bismillahi Ta’ala

Walaikum Assalam Warahmatullah

Just as one may look at another and admire their fortune without keeping Allah in mind, similarly, one could self-indulge and have the evil eye cast upon one self as well. The solution for any such possibility is simply to remember Allah as the sole possessor of any effect.

Recite the du’a taught by Nabi ﷺ about evil eye, and have the conscious desire to be protected from all evil eyes through protection of Allah. If you feel that you have a narcissistic tendency of self indulgence, then include in your intention protection from your own sharr (evil) as well. Insha’Allah Allah will diminish and cure your self indulgence.

A’oodhu bikalimaa tillahit taamati min kulli shaytanin wa haamatin wa min kulli `aynin laamatin

Wallahu A’lam

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
