Is it OK to use facial expressions with emojis

Great admonishment has been mentioned in regards to Tasweer (image) making of animate beings. In regards to digital imaging, there is a difference of opinion among scholars, but caution and path of taqwa demand that one should abandon all Tasaweer. This is the opinion of Darul Iftaa Canada.
Emojis/Emoticons/Stickers etc which have facial features, are considered as Tasweer and thus impermissible. Representation of an expression through parenthesis and colon like : ) , ; ) , :- ) are not considered Tasweer and may be used.
