If someone doesn’t pray or only prays 1 salah, can we eat his zabiha?

Bismillahi Ta’ala

Walaikum Assalam Warahmatullah,

According to Ahl Sunnah Wal Jama’ah, if someone who claims to be a Muslim and believes in Salah, but leaves out performing his salah by way of laziness or irreligiosity, then he is still considered a Muslim although a sinner.

As long as all other requirements are fulfilled, slaughter of such a person is halal and may be consumed. While one should continue to encourage him to pray his salah and be steadfast in it, one should not consider his food to be haram as though he is not a Muslim.

Wallahu A’lam

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
