Is a request to convey someone’s salam compulsory?

449 viewsGeneral (Misc)salam

If someone says: “convey my salam to person X”, does it become necessary to convey the salam to person X ?

Merely requesting someone to covey one’s salam to another does not make it incumbent for the other individual to carry out this request. However, if the other person undertakes this request and confirms that he will convey the salam, then it is wajib on him to fulfil the promise he has enacted.
