I have a wisdom Tooth Extraction tonight and it’s dhul hijjah days. Just checking whether it’s okay to remove them these days as removing certain things (hair and nails) are prohibited?
Bismillahi Ta’ala
Walaikum Assalam Warahmatullah
Yes, you may go ahead with your tooth extraction in the Dhul Hijjah days.
As indicated in our previous answers that abstaining from pairing nails, hair etc. is by way of Istihbab (desirable), and is not a compulsion.
Moreover, those istihbab do not apply to medical procudures, or where one may overstep into makruh (e.g. one did not clip unwanted hairs and it is already going beyong 40 days, or the nails are abnormally long that najasah sticks under them).
Finally, in case you are fasting in these days of Dhul Hijjah, and get an extraction, then should the blood or liquid goes down your throat, your fast will break necessitating a qadha’ fast.
