Feeling burp by fasting person in wudhu or ghusl

748 viewsRamadanburps ghusl Wudhu Wudu

If a fasting person feels burps promptly after rinsing one’s mouth (not gargling) in wudhu or Ghusl, should one assume that water went down one’s throat even if not felt?

Bismillahi Ta’ala

Walaikum Assalam Warahmatullah

As a principle fast will only break when one is certain or has a predominant thought of something gone down the throat. Mere assumption or doubt will not render the fast invalid.

In the case mentioned the fast is valid, and one should continue to fast.
