Ramadan: Delay adhan or delay Salah in order to break the fast?

545 viewsRamadanadhan fast fasting ramadan salah

Mufti saheb in regards to iftar time, what is better, to delay adhan or delay Salah. For everyone to break their fast, should one do adhan, then wait for a while, or delay adhan instead?

Bismillahi Ta’ala

Walaikum Assalam Warahmatullah

At the approach of Maghreb, Mu’adhin (whoever is calling out the adhan) will break his fast with a morsel, and then give the adhan. If Adhan is not being called out in a private capacity, then you may follow the listed time to break the fast.

Everyone else will break their fast with the Adhan called out, and not before it. In between the Adhan and Salah one could delay a 5-10 minutes for people to eat and drink. Thereafter one should perform their Maghreb Congregation, followed by a proper breakfast (meal).
