Is it permissible to eat at a restaurant that claims their meat is hand slaughtered but they sell alcohol as well. Is it permissible to eat at such restaurants?

The question at hand will have two separate angles of approach.
1. Is the hillat (halal suitability) of the food that has been vetted to be halal affected by having alcohol being served in its proximity?
The answer to this is, No. As long as there is no cross contamination of alcohol with the halal foods, then the food which has been confirmed to be halal will remain Halal.
2. However, It is an immature assumption to expect such an establishment that serves alcohol to apply their due diligence in regards to cross contamination. The alcohol which has been considered to be Jima’ al Ithm (encapsulation of all sins) and one of the major sins.
So the assumption that has been established in #1 that such an establishment is providing Halal food is itself somewhat doubtful to say the least.
3. As Muslims we strive to an ideal state. If as consumer we cannot leave haram which may become somewhat doubtful out, then we must know that the doors of Taqwa are closed upon us. In order to gain the Taqwa Imani, we must be ready to turn away from doubtful in desire for complete and certain Halal.
Moreover, such action will force any establishment to rectify their own policies to adope that which is ideal and expected of them. They are in a service industry, and in such markets consumers ought to dictate the services rendered, and not the other way around.
